Canada's immigration system is only as strong as the feedback that shapes it. IRCC's new Client Experience Survey gives 300,000 applicants the chance to share their honest experience with immigration representatives — and directly influence how services are improved.

On May 19, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the launch of a major online survey targeting clients who used an immigration or citizenship representative, or received advice on their application during 2025. The survey is part of IRCC's ongoing commitment to improving the quality, transparency, and accountability of immigration representation across Canada.

If you have recently gone through an immigration or citizenship process — whether through a consultant, lawyer, or other representative — this survey is your opportunity to have your voice heard at the highest level of Canada's immigration system.

About the Survey

Who Is Being Contacted?

On May 19, 2026, IRCC will email 300,000 clients who received a decision from IRCC in 2025.

IRCC selected survey participants at random. Participation is voluntary and anonymous — responses will not be linked to individual applications or used to identify respondents.

Survey results will only be used to help improve IRCC programs and services, and will not affect any past, current, or future IRCC applications.

The Online Survey

How Does It Work?

The survey takes about 11 minutes to complete and is available in both English and French.

It must be completed by June 12, 2026.

The survey is hosted online and can be accessed directly through the link provided in the IRCC invitation email sent to selected participants.

The Invitation

What Will the Email Look Like?

The invitation email will include the survey link starting with https://ircc.qualtrics.com/jfe

It will have no attachments and will come from an official IRCC email address where participants can also send questions.

If you receive this email, it is legitimate — do not ignore it.

Your feedback helps IRCC improve its programs and services for every future applicant across Canada.

Deadline: June 12, 2026

Why This Survey Matters

Canada's immigration system handles millions of applications every year. The quality of advice and representation that applicants receive can make the difference between a successful application and a devastating rejection. IRCC's Client Experience Survey is a rare and direct opportunity for applicants to tell the government — in their own words — what worked, what did not, and where improvements are needed.

When you participate, your response contributes to systemic change. It helps IRCC identify patterns of poor representation, highlight consultants who are excelling, and design better safeguards for future applicants — especially those who are most vulnerable.

Survey results will only be used to help improve IRCC programs and services, and will not affect any past, current, or future IRCC applications. All responses are completely anonymous — your identity will never be linked to your answers.

How Does This Affect You as an Immigrant or Applicant?

If you are one of the 300,000 clients selected to receive this survey, participating takes just 11 minutes and costs nothing — but the impact of your feedback can be felt by thousands of future applicants who go through the same process after you.

More broadly, this survey reflects Canada's ongoing commitment to holding immigration representatives to a higher standard — a commitment that is especially important following the new CICC regulations announced in May 2026, which strengthen oversight of all registered immigration consultants in Canada.

For those who have not yet used an immigration consultant or representative, this is also a powerful reminder of why choosing the right, registered professional matters so deeply. The feedback collected through this survey will directly shape how Canada regulates and improves representation for all future applicants.
