Gaining insight into the perspectives of caregivers: Participants in the IRCC’s Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilot Survey

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is dedicated to improving caregiver programs and services, and as part of this effort, they have initiated a thorough survey aimed at Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilot participants. The purpose of the survey is to learn more about the viewpoints and experiences of people who have worked as caregivers in Canada under these pilot programs, or who are working in the field now. The IRCC aims to improve future iterations of caregiver programming by identifying areas of success and areas for improvement within the caregiver programs through direct feedback collection from caregivers.

The survey is completely voluntary and private to participate in. Respondents can be certain that their participation will not affect any applications or statuses with the IRCC in the past, present, or future. The data collected from the survey will only be used to improve program features and caregiver service delivery. Caregivers will have two weeks from March 8 to March 22, 2024, to respond to the online survey and share their thoughts. It should take no more than twenty to thirty minutes to finish, allowing for a comprehensive investigation of caregiver experiences. Furthermore, the survey will be accessible in both French and English to accommodate a range of linguistic preferences.

Participants in the survey will be caregivers who applied through the Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots between 2019 and 2023. With this focused approach, the input obtained is guaranteed to be immediately applicable to people who have participated in these caregiver programs directly. The significant contributions that caregivers make to Canadian families and communities are acknowledged by the IRCC. The IRCC confirms its commitment to improving caregiver programs and making sure that caregivers receive the assistance and recognition they deserve by actively interacting with caregivers through efforts like this survey.

It is recommended that caregivers take advantage of this chance to express their viewpoints and contribute to the development of caregiver programming in Canada. Please visit the official IRCC website to access the survey or for further information.
